The working terms for every Maui booking. Plain-English summaries first; where terms are proposed pending counsel review, they are labeled as such.
Scope of service
In short: we cook where there is a real kitchen. Private chef and catering services are provided at villas, estates, and venues with adequate kitchens across our published Maui service zones. Hotel rooms without kitchens are declined.
The written quote
In short: the quote is the total. Every engagement is confirmed by a written quote itemizing food, staffing, travel, 20% service, and GET up to 4.7120%. That quote is the confirmed total — changes require a revised written quote.
Deposit
In short: 50% locks the date. Dates are held only by deposit against a written quote; the balance follows the quote’s stated schedule.
Cancellation — PROPOSED terms
In short: labeled proposed until counsel signs off. The proposed tiers: 28+ days, partial refund; 14–28 days, deposit retained; under 7 days, full balance. These render as proposed, not final, and your quote states the current terms at booking.
Force majeure
In short: reschedule, not forfeit. Weather, natural events, and emergencies move the date rather than consume the deposit.
Alcohol
In short: we do not sell alcohol. Alcohol is client-supplied or provided via licensed bartending referral; Maui County licensing rules govern event specifics, and your quote states the compliant setup. Related wording is flagged REQUIRES LEGAL VERIFICATION pending counsel.
Service-charge disclosure
In short: 20%, disclosed, never a hidden gratuity. Under Hawaiʻi’s HRS §481B-14 posture, the 20% service charge is disclosed as a service charge on its own line; final disclosure wording is flagged REQUIRES LEGAL VERIFICATION until counsel locks it.
