The reception is the meal the week is remembered by. We run plated two-to-three-course service or premium buffet for 30–75 guests, from $150 a guest plus staffing — published lines against a market whose plated norm ($120–$200/pp) hides behind “call for pricing.”
Plated or premium buffet
Plated reads formal and paces the toasts; premium buffet feeds faster and loosens the room. Both run inside the same per-guest band — the choice is about the evening’s rhythm, not a hidden price tier. Over 75 guests is a written exception, quoted, never implied.
The honest market comparison
Maui’s published wedding-catering norms run $80–$120 a head for buffets and $120–$200 for plated, with 18–22% service charges. Resort F&B programs add $7,500–$15,000 minimums per event at 23–25% service. Our from-$150 lines with 20% service sit exactly in the market’s plated band — itemized instead of bundled.
What the crew looks like
- One server per 10–12 guests at $55/hr — a 60-guest plated reception runs about five

Where receptions happen
Estates and villas: Kukahiko, Olowalu, Haiku Mill through its vendor list, private Wailea and Kapalua properties. Resort ballrooms belong to resort F&B — our reception is the estate one the DLNR beach cap pushed onto land.
Questions, answered
At mid-band $200 a guest, food is $12,000, plus roughly five servers and two sous on the hourlys, 20% service, and GET. Against a resort’s $15,000 F&B minimum plus 25%, the arithmetic makes the argument.
Dessert courses are in-house; structural wedding cakes come from specialist bakers we are happy to refer. Cake service and plating are part of the evening at no invented fee.
The packaged cart runs from $800/4hr; alcohol is client-supplied or via licensed bartending referral — Maui County’s licensing rules are the state’s most specific, and your quote states the compliant setup.
