How does a private chef work in Maui?
The short answer: you tell us the dates and the villa, we send a written quote, a 50% deposit locks the date, and on the day your chef shops, cooks, serves, and leaves the kitchen clean. Here is the long version.
Before: the menu call
Every booking starts with dates, headcount, and the kitchen. A short call or thread sets the menu, the dietary flags, and the timing. What comes back is a written quote — the confirmed total, with 20% service and GET up to 4.7120% on their own lines.
The day itself
Your chef shops that morning — Maui farmers and fishers first — and arrives before service with everything. Courses are plated and introduced at your table’s pace. Between courses the kitchen runs quietly; after dessert it is returned cleaner than it was found.
After
The invoice matches the quote — that is the entire point of the written-quote discipline. Groceries reconcile at cost with receipts on request. Anything you loved becomes a starting point for the next booking.
The edges, honestly
Hotel rooms without kitchens are declined. Hāna is mention-only. Pāʻia and Haʻikū are quoted at inquiry. Wherever the honest answer is “no” or “it costs more,” this site says so before you pay a deposit.
Questions, answered
No — most guests are at the beach during prep. Access is arranged at booking; you return to a set table and the smell of dinner.
