Maui’s marquee weddings happen on private ground: Olowalu Plantation House, Kukahiko Estate, Haiku Mill, and the island’s private estates. These venues assume an outside culinary team — that team is the product.
The venue reality
Maui’s estate venues gate access through approved planners and vendor lists. Olowalu works through a hand-selected planner roster; Kukahiko books through its planner channel; Haiku Mill runs a preferred-vendor list with a $650 outside-vendor fee. We work inside these systems — and we tell you the fees before you sign anything.
What an estate reception needs
- A culinary crew sized to the venue kitchen — Kukahiko’s was built for outside caterers
- Rentals coordination: tables, linens, glassware, dance-floor-adjacent logistics
- Staffing at one server per 10–12 guests, $55/hr; sous chefs $75/hr

The money comparison
Olowalu’s published signature package runs $15,000 for up to 30 guests including catering; Haiku Mill’s full-day Saturday rate is $10,500 before catering. Against resort F&B minimums of $7,500–$15,000 per event plus 23–25% service, an estate with an outside caterer at published lines is where the wedding budget breathes.
Our estate posture
We leave estates as we found them — kitchens reset, lawns unmarked, load-in coordinated with the venue’s rules. Estates rebook vendors they trust; our invitation back is the only review that matters.

Yes, through the venue’s planner structure. Olowalu publishes package pricing that includes its catering; where an outside caterer fits your plan, we coordinate with your planner on the specifics.
Haiku Mill requires vendors on its preferred list or charges a $650 outside-vendor fee. We tell you which applies before you commit, and we work with your planner either way.
Venues set capacity — Kukahiko suits 2–40, Olowalu scales higher. Our staffed service runs to 75 guests; over 75 is a written exception assessed honestly.
